Its Story The molting of the winged ones is a transformation of mass and density: In the breath of the long night, their bone cavities are gradually ”hollowed out,“ gaining the delicate porosity of reeds.
The alignment of their muscles follows the rhythm of the flight spectrum, shifting from horizontal tension to oblique traction, while wind passes between their shoulder blades, emitting a faint, resonant hum.
When the volume fraction of air within their bodies crosses a certain threshold, their density aligns with the night wind — as weight departs from solid form and is borne instead by the flow of air, the winged ones are no longer bound to the earth.
About Anthro Anthro derives from the root of anthropology, meaning “about humans.” For us, it carries two extended senses: human form / human ways — referring both to the forms of humanity and to ways of living. At Anthro, we take the explorer’s view: through objects, we search for traces of mythic humankind and the ways they lived. We believe the human forms found in myth embody the selves that different eras have longed for. These forms may be ultra-ancient or ultra-futuristic, leaping across stories in states of transition.
